Lloyd is the painter's painter.

Every time the typical painter questions their direction or looks for inspiration, motivation, or whatever, Lloyd has another exhibit. Lloyd has relentlessly and consistently pursued his vision since we met in 1976. At that time Lloyd was designing and making samples for Ceramics City in Johnston, RI prior to entering the Painting Program at RISD.

Shark Bite dates from 1981. I moved out of a studio and had a surplus of paint. I called Lloyd who made perfect use of the material in a series of constructions that anticipated his rigorous geometries of recent years.
